SUI Rising Star Alert – Philadelphia Union teenager Cavan Sullivan is giving soccer fans something to pay attention to.
Philadelphia Union teenager Cavan Sullivan is giving soccer fans something to pay attention to.
Sullivan scored the game-winning goal in Philadelphia Union’s 3–1 victory over the New York Red Bulls, bringing his season total to 10 MLS goal contributions: three goals and seven assists.
And then comes the part that makes you sit up: THIS KID IS ONLY SIXTEEN YEARS OLD!
Sixteen.
Sullivan’s 10 goal contributions tie Freddy Adu’s record for the most MLS goal contributions in a single season by a player aged 16 or younger.
That’s a pretty impressive résumé for a player who is still just 16 years old.
And I’m gonna give you my prediction: at this rate, this young man is going to be a force to be reckoned with.
We are gonna keep our eye on him because sometimes when you see a young player starting to put something special together, you just know you want to remember when you first noticed.
Cavan Sullivan is one of those players we’re watching.
